Systems Engineer (Multiple Positions)

Betis Group is seeking to fill multiple Systems Engineer positions.  Our ideal candidates will have proven experience in VMware, Virtualization, Programming, Windows, Unix/Linux, Application Packaging, Storage and Backup, and/or Network.

VMware

The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues of all VMware components to include the hypervisor, vSphere, NSX, vRealize Suite, and Site Recovery Manager. 4th Level Support

 Virtualization

The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for engineering all VDI design, deployment, and maintenance of VDI systems and components within the organization. The Contractor shall install, patch, upgrade, update, and document the current environments, design, document and deploy upgrades, and provide on-site expertise for both Citrix and VMware VDI environments currently in use. 3rd Level Support

Programming

The Systems Engineer shall conduct Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) automation and improvement in support of systems. Responsible for the creation of automation scripts using programming language such as Python to automate the operations and management of the system builds and Information Technology platforms. Responsible for custom script development to interact with various application programming interfaces (API’s) and troubleshooting hyper-converged, converged, and traditional server hardware and software.

Windows

The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for engineering, design, integration, deployment, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues, not only of the base operating system, but for all support libraries, components, and application dependencies.

Unix/Linux

The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues, not only of the base operating system, but for all support libraries, components, and application dependencies. 4th Level Support

Application Packaging

The Systems Engineer shall create and maintain both the thick install and virtual install application packages for COTS products, GOTS products, and developed custom applications used on the enterprise environments. Currently utilized application packaging technologies include but are not limited to Microsoft App-V Sequencer, Flexera AdminStudio, BigFix, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager. The Application Packager (Packager) will be part of a packaging team to support application packaging for a Windows 10 deployment as well as other commercial off the shelf products such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge based on Chromium, Adobe products and other add-ons.

Storage and Backup

The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues, not only of the base storage & backup system, but for all features, components, and application dependencies. To include Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Tape, local disk, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, etc. 3rd and 4th Level Support

Network

The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, and addressing interoperability issues for all features, components, and application dependencies. To include switches, firewalls, load balancers, software defined networking, private cloud requirements, etc. 4th Level Support

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience required ranges from 6 – 10 years minimum 

Special Certifications/Security Clearances

  • Top Secret Clearance
  • VMware—VMware Data Center Virtualization or Cloud Management and Automation certification within the last 5 years
  • Virtualization—Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), VMware Certified Professional 6 – Desktop and Mobiity (VCP6-DTM), and/or Nutanix Platform Professional (NPP)
  • Windows—Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Professional/Technology Associate (MTA) or equivalent
  • Unix/Linux—Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Storage and Backup—Advance mainstream storage vendor certification
  • Network—Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or DevNet Associate certifications

  • Partner with strategy, functional, technical, and UX experts to architect, design, and lead ServiceNow implementations that address the key needs of the business
  • Design, Development and Implementation of the ServiceNow modules including, but not limited: Virtual Agent, Machine Learning, HR Workspace, SAM, DevSecOps, ITSM, ITOM, and AI search
  • Working with a team of both functional and technical consultants through requirements gathering and sprint design sessions for the ServiceNow applications
  • Supporting the iterative configuration of applications, engage stakeholders to conduct reviews through joint design sessions
  • Configure and enhance the core applications, including, but not limited to, Service Catalog, Service Portal, Incidents, Knowledge Base, Management, Integrations, and Reporting
  • Design technical solutions and implementations of strategic technologies
  • Research, recommend, design, implement and support ServiceNow platform services, including workflows, ITOM, CMDB, and ITAM, ensuring the overall integrity of the ServiceNow platform is maintained
  • Collaborate with network, system, and application Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to solve ITOM, ITAM, and CMDB gaps
  • Improve and ensure accuracy of CMDB inventory and support improvements and automation with ServiceNow Discovery
  • Collaborate with key business partners and stakeholders to build out a mature asset lifecycle management function with processes and workflows that align with industry standards and best practices
  • Implement integrations with ServiceNow, 3rd party solutions, and internally developed applications
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop clear, concise, and accurate documentation such as user requirements, workflow and use case diagrams, user acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to internal and end-user documentation that relates to your work
  • Load, manipulate, and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems
  • Support the development and growth of the services delivered by the organization
  • Skill in development and administration of ServiceNow including a strong understanding of ServiceNow development best practices
  • Skill in all areas of ServiceNow development and configuration including, but not limited to core ITSM tables, scripting, business rules, client scripts, data imports, custom apps, and development methods
  • Experience with ServiceNow integration with 3rd party software applications.
  • Experience with Custom application development, developing and implementing APIs and knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery. Proven experience in facilitating requirement gathering workshops, design, and development activities to deliver and deploy a satisfactory end user experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM, ITAM modules
  • Understanding the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow integration solutions, including SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS.
  • Interest in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks
  • Understanding of the SaaS (software as a service) business & technology model
  • Excellent communications skills required – verbally with all levels of customer IT and business management, as well as written with technical assessments and project-related reports
  • Demonstrated self-direction and attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with short deadlines
  • Strong organization and process improvement skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and a proven ability to present complex, technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences and be able to document requirements and solution modifications
  • High level of interpersonal skills in order to collaboratively work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organizatio

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Implementation Experience in Event Management, Service Mapping or Cloud Discovery
  • Experience with domain separation and system/process automation (orchestration)
  • Experience developing JavaScript frameworks

Education

BA/BS in Computer Science, Communication Technology, or an equivalent combination of education or experience

  • Certified ServiceNow application developer and ServiceNow System administrator
