UI/UX Architect

Betis Group is seeking a full-time UI/UX Architect. This position is for a government client in the Washington DC area. If awarded, the contract is for up to 5 years and has a potential start date of 1 June 2020. Some telework may be authorized.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides the Government with technical leadership and expertise to support front end development
  • As the lead front-end architect, collaborate with the Government and with technical and development staff from other contractor teams to support the following activities:
    • Maintain, iteratively update, and socialize the front-end technical strategy and roadmap
    • Maintain and iteratively update front-end architectural epics, features, and stories
    • Maintain, iteratively update, socialize, and coordinate implementation of front-end technical standards, processes, and documentation including:
      • Architecture documentation
      • Sitemap
      • Technology and tools documentation
      • Software design, development, testing, and deployment best practices based on the approved technology stack
      • Software coding and testing standards
      • Deployment strategy and processes
      • Accessibility standards
      • Performance standards
    • Represent front end development in technical discussions and decision making including those related to governance, platform, and deployment
    • Collaborate with the Government Internal Change Control Board and technical governance to document and implement the methods by which changes to front end architecture, technology, standards, and processes are proposed, evaluated, approved, and communicated
    • Support front-end developer training activities held by the Government


  • 5+ years of UI/UX experience
  • Ability to complete a Minimum Background Investigation
  • Must be able to attend regular meetings in Washington DC or other government facility

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience with UI/UX technologies and design processes
  • Demonstrated ability to Analyze, Design and Build capabilities around Customer Centricity including usability, information architecture, and UI design patterns
  • Experience designing for 508 compliance, responsive design, security, and search engine optimization
  • Experience in Scaled Agile (SAFe)
  • Highly desired experience:
    • AngularJS
    • U. S. Web Design System (USWDS)
    • Micro frontend architectures
    • Government agency site design for Digital Government initiatives
  • Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
  • Advanced technical writing, speaking, and presentation skills
